What is a URL? - a URL is the address of your website; for example www.black-isle-web-design.co.uk. Web names come in many different formats and prices and are sourced from third-party providers. Most web addresses that end in .co.uk cost around £10 and .com URL's around £20. A URL is usually purchased for a period of 2 years. It is a requirement that a renewal fee is paid at the end of that period to retain registration of the URL.

Domain Space? - (known as web hosting) - similar to URLs, domain space is sourced from a third party. There are a variety of packages to suit the amount of memory space you require, however most websites do not require anything other than the minimum packages which cost no more than £50. Domain space is paid for on a yearly basis and requires yearly subscription renewal.
